Five profiled foam rubber base profile elements are fitted to the circumference of each disc half. The abrasive segments are attached to these.

The base profile elements of both disc halves can be mounted on an equal or alternating basis.When they are fitted on an equal basis, the “profile-edge” profile version can be sanded. When the base profile elements are fitted on an alternating basis, the “profile-edge-profile” profile version can be machined, whereby different profiles can be mounted on both disc halves.

A completely different profile can be machined by exchanging the profiled foam rubber base profile elements on the aluminium base disc.

All these versions offer long-term versatility and the ability to remain flexible with regard to market changes with a single purchase.
